Note, I *paid* online - but they&#039;re going to deliver to me in dead tree format.

I am willing to pay for access for high-quality news and entertainment - which I don&#039;t get from most media outlets.

Although I&#039;d love to see Private Eye have a decent website, perversely, I&#039;d be less inclined to pay for it.  The joy of the web is sharing content - whether it&#039;s a link to a story or a video on YouTube.  Once you put a paywall there, it kills sharing.

I can see a version of Slashdot&#039;s subscriber system working for a magazine like Private Eye.  Subscribers get to see, say, a week in to the future.  Add in features like only letting paid subscribers comment etc and it *could* work.

Would emailing me a PDF every fortnight be cheaper than running a printing press?  Although the information contained within is the same, is it as valuable to me?</description>
